Hello Colleagues! Your patients need your help.
There is a growing epidemic that is causing millions of people worldwide to suffer needlessly because they can’t get an accurate diagnosis or treatment for their condition. They have been to countless doctors, had numerous tests and come out of each visit disappointed that they are no closer to finding the root cause of their illness. They have been dismissed by their doctors as having a psychiatric illness and get blamed for their illness. They suffer from fatigue, joint pain, headaches, painful muscles, brain fog, insomnia and multiple other vague symptoms that no one can seem to find the common thread. These stories are common. The frustration is real. And the root underlying cause might be Lyme disease.
Lyme disease now affects more than 300,000 new people each year in the United States and more than 85,000 in Europe. The World Health Organization states Lyme disease is the fastest growing vector borne illness in the world. As the prevalence of Lyme disease and other tick borne illnesses increased, so has the controversy. As Lyme is “The Great Imitator," it symptomatically resembles many other conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, mono, multiple sclerosis and many others. Misdiagnosis and underdiagnosis are common, leaving symptomatic patients receiving either no treatment or the wrong treatment altogether. The result is hundreds of thousands of Lyme patients falling through the cracks feeling hopeless and helpless.
But the good news is you have the ability to help. You can acquire the skills needed to help them navigate this complex world of Lyme disease. You see, I had Lyme disease myself and spent 3 years learning how to get healthy again. I went through many of the same symptoms and difficulties many other Lyme patients experience. I got to see first hand what it is like to see Lyme from the eyes of a patient and not just a doctor. And everything I learned about healing myself, I started applying to my patients and began to see other Lyme patients get better faster. I discovered that treating Lyme by itself was only a small part of healing the whole person and that a comprehensive approach led to sustained improvement and resolution of symptoms.
My personal and professional experience is what led me to write "The Lyme Solution" book and now to create The Lyme Solution series to help you become an expert in treating Lyme disease and other tick borne illnesses. I have compressed more than 20 years of experience into a 12 week program to walk you through each aspect of Lyme diagnosis and treatment to give you the confidence to take on the most complicated cases. With so many new patients diagnosed each year, the need for qualified practitioners to deal with this epidemic is great. Whether you are a primary care provider or specialize in regenerative medicine, oncology, endocrinology or other specialty, you are likely to see people with Lyme disease come to your practice. With the information you will learn in this course, you will be able to better manage these patients and help them achieve better health.
When you complete The Lyme Solution course, you will quickly be known in the community as a Lyme specialist or what is often referred to as a Lyme-literate provider. As your reputation continues to grow, this will lead to more referrals, better patient satisfaction, more revenue and other opportunities to speak on Lyme disease. People are searching for the right provider and partner to help them manage their Lyme disease and the information found in this course gives you the opportunity to be that person.
I personally invite you to join me in this 12 week journey to help you further your understanding of Lyme disease and come out with the tools needed to successfully treat your patients. Having treated almost 6000 Lyme patients, I know this program works. I want to show you how I get more than 90% of my Lyme patients feeling better and back on the road to better health. I experienced it myself and I want you to have the same results. All data suggests Lyme disease is only going to get worse and you have the opportunity to be at the forefront of fighting it! I look forward to having you join me in the fight and I know you’ll look back in 6 months or a year and realize your decision to sign up for this course today is what was the catalyst to becoming the authority on Lyme disease in your community and having a successful new aspect of care you have been able to provide to your patients.
"I have been going to Dr. Ingels for about three years now. In those three years I have gone from being tired, having headaches, and being sick all the time to being energetic, no headaches, and rarely getting sick. Dr. Ingels helped me with all my food sensitivities and seasonal allergies. He has a wonderful bedside manner and has the patient's best interest at heart. I have sent my whole family to him including my child, who absolutely adores him. I highly recommend him to anyone and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for making me healthier."

Most of the questions regarding continuing education have to do with specific discrepancies on pre-approval of credits or the type of credits approved - CEU versus CME. These questions are fairly straight forward to answer for the naturopathic profession. While answers to questions of approval for other professions - chiropractors, nurses, acupuncturists, and MDs - largely depend on whether those professional boards recognize the ND license as an valid and accredited license in that state, or within that profession. For the MD profession, courses given by a licensed naturopath may be denied for CE simply because the presenter was a naturopath - in fact, this is how the continuing education requirements for MDs read.
DO I HAVE TO GET MY CE CREDITS PRE-APPROVED? No! Yes! - It depends on what state you are licensed in. But first, keep in mind, if you are practicing in an unlicensed state (naturopaths), you don’t need to prove your continuing education. It may be a good idea to log your credits from the courses you take over the years, just in case you end up moving to a licensed state, or your state becomes licensed.
Many states don’t have a pre-approval process of their own, and have statements such as this, from New Hampshire’s regulatory law:
“For the purposes of this section an "approved continuing naturopathic medical education program" means a program designed to continue the education of the licensee in current developments, skills, procedures, or treatment in the licensee's field of practice, which has been certified by a national or state naturopathic medical society or college or university and approved by the board”
This allows for courses to be taken for continuing education if they have been approved by another regulatory body, a process called “reciprocity. For our purposes here reciprocity means that a board will acknowledge another state or professional regulatory organization (such as a college or association) previous approval of a continuing education course.
DOES MY BOARD HONOR CE CREDITS APPROVED FROM OBNM or CONO? The Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine (OBNM) does the entire naturopathic profession a great service by pre-approving of continuing education (CE) courses at no charge. The College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) also does this. The application process involves submitting course documents, presenter CVs, as well as an OBNM specific application. Most licensed states recognize CE approved by the OBNM through a process referred to as “reciprocity.” Below is a list of all the states and provinces that recognize CE credits through reciprocity:
DO MY CE CREDITS COUNT IN CALIFORNIA? California - a wonderful place to live, a horrible place to do business. The process by which an organization goes through pre-approval of a CE course is quite expensive. In addition, California does place limitations on the number of CE units that may be completed online. The course content of all NDNR courses should meet the California requirements, except being approved by the CAND, or California Naturopathic Committee. If you would like to submit the course documents and presenter information for your own personal approval, NDNR will more than happily supply you with all you need. Please contact Node Smith - firstname.lastname@example.org.
DO MY CE CREDITS COUNT IN CANADA? Naturopathy is one of the few professions that shares licensing exams across the United States and Canada. Because of this, the reciprocity from the OBNM should suffice for most provinces, except Ontario, to which NDNR also submits longer multi-week courses for pre-approval.
However, note that the continuing education requirements in Canada are slightly different than in the United States.
DO THESE CE CREDITS COUNT AS CME CREDITS? Yes, if the course meets the requirements of the regulating body, then yes, continuing education (CE) is simply a more general term for continuing medical education (CME). All NDNR courses should meet requirements for CME, if they meet requirements of the regulatory body in question.
DO MY CE CREDITS COUNT FOR ANY OTHER PROFESSIONS? Probably, though this is a question that must be taken on an individual basis per state and regulatory body involved.
